    Default Howdy, all

Political Crossfire seems to be dead, so I'm looking for a new home for my grumpy paleocon musings.

    This'll do.

Well Jay welcome to our little home. This is a great place. Have fun.

You are certainly welcome here. Of what political affiliation are you?

Howdy Jay! Glad you decided to give us a look. :)

Welcome Jay! Hope you enjoy your time with us.

Charles ---> Based on this: "my grumpy paleocon musings", I'd say he's a follower of Pat Buchannan. Of course, I could be wrong.

    Eh. Buchanan's okay.

If I had to pick one, and only one politician to be a fan of - if no one's follower - it would be Ron Paul, but I've been a fan of his long before he became something of an internet meme.

Yeah, but he's hardly what the usual definition of "paleocon" is. Buchanan's regularly labeled as such on talkshows, in magazine articles, etc., and he has no problem being labeled as such.

Isn't "paleocon" the new term for national socialist? I like Ron Paul too and he isn't paleocon.

Paleoconservative is descriptive of a certain brand of conservativism, sure, and clearly it's meant to contrast with neoconservatism, though, granted you rarely will see anyone claim themselves to be a neoconservative.

Paleoconservatism, ironically, is essentially synonymous with classical liberalism. I have no idea where you derived a link between that, and nazis, but hey.

Ron Paul is very much so a paleoconservative libertarian. I suppose Buchanan is fairly aptly labeled paleoconservative, at least.
