Default Predictions For 2010 General Elections

I'm doing this as a summer preview of what people feel will be the outcome. Just want to see what the spread is as I think this forum is pretty well balanced politically. I'll probably do another one close to the elections.

Vote once for House answers, and once for Senate answers.

I'll say the Dems hold the House by a 33 vote majority & the Senate by 5.

Ever since I predicted The Dark Knight would sweep the Oscars despite not being nominated, I realized I'm no good at predictions.

I predicted in 06 and then again in08 that Repubs wanted the Dems to control all 3 branchs. They needed a Scapegoat to take the fall for their actions. Amazing...Dems get handed a sh+tty hand from the GOP yet slandered....People with short term memory will vote the GOP right back into office. Makes one wonder why Repubs hate America so much...

I predict that the Republicans will take the House. Maybe not by a big majority, but they'll have it. The Senate, I think will still be held by the Democrats, simply because most of the elections that are being held in Class III are fairly safe Democratic strongholds. Although, I do think they will lose a few, and it may go down to a one seat majority. If not that, then I would otherwise predict a perfect tie.

That sounds about right for a mid term. If President Obama plays it right like President Clinton did in the 90's, then his presidency will actually benefit. Barack Obama is a pretty smart guy but I don't know if he has the political acumen of Bill Clinton.

Sadly I think the republicans will make some gains.. I don't think they will have control of either house..

No hopes for a third party?
I'm predicting the Redskins will take Dallas this year.

Even though I'm a member of a third party, I find it near impossible for us to win elections in a winner take-all, first past the post election system. Not even mentioning the fact that our campaign system intentionaly excludes third parties. Independents only matter if they have the money to keep up.
