That is no easy question. But the fact that he did suffer and die on the cross does make it a true sacrafice.

Blood has always been used to expiate sins. But no amount of blood from no number or animals could even do what one drop of the blood of the Son of God did. It is no coincidence that Jesus is called "The Lamb" multiple times, and that in the Old Tesament the Lamb had to be eaten whole as part of he Passover.

Its too deep and heavy a subject for me to do justice to in a post.
